Hi. Basically I am weighing the options here... i am considering the TEFLinternational school in Madrid, april/may classes.
The International House CELTA in Poland, same time frame. The CELTA in Poland is actually a few hundred dollars cheaper than the TEFLint. in Spain.
Does anyone have experience with either or both?
Finally... a third option. Anyone familiar with AEC, the American English Center in Ukraine? Seems I could get work there, even before finishing either of the two programs I am considering. I like the idea of living in Ukraine, and making some money... its VERY tempting.
All opinions pro and con are greatly appreciated!!!
(for anyone who saw my earlier posts about teaching in Latin America, I have decided that certification first is my best bet, hence the TEFLint. vs IH CELTA/Spain vs Poland issue. The Ukranian job is a recent spoiler... making my whole slowly congealing plan fall into chaos yet again! lol!)
thanks for reading. |

Do you have any idea about what kind of salary they're going to offer you? Ukraine isn't exactly known for high salaries and I'm guessing that a place that hires people without a TESL certificate is going to be on the bottom end of an already low scale.
You can't enjoy the place if you're dead broke.
Just something to think about. |

If you can choose, get the CELTA rather than the TEFL International cert. I don't know anything about the specific programs you're considering, but the reputation of CELTA in general is much better than Tefl international in general. And places you apply won't know the specific programs either.
Best,
