|
I'm done with the heavy class load for the year, which couldn't come at a sooner time for breaking my foot. Since I'm going to be sitting on my tush for 5 more weeks, I thought it would be a good time to write.
Today, let's get a gander at Michoacan state. General state info right here.
Michoacan isn't one of Mexico's largest states, so I would offer up that it isn't going to offer a deep slate of job opportunities. Morelia is the state capital and largest city, so any job hunt might start there. Across the Mexico forum on Dave's, we've seen references to or job inquiries for Morelia, Zamora, Uruapan, and La Piedad, among others.
It would seem that pay rates are not all that great in Michoacan, at least for entry level jobs and at language schools. In many places, it seems that hourly rates don't top 50 pesos per hour, and it might be difficult to get enough hours (or a salary) that tops 6000 pesos per month.
Like everywhere else, Michoacan (and each city, likely) has it's own set of rules regarding the FM3 work permit. I hope teachers in Michoacan can contribute to this thread on this and other topics.
For specific references, check out these previous threads on Michoacan, cities in the state, and schools.

Happy to help...should make searching threads easier in the future.
Next up..Durango! Nah, just kidding. Durango is a joke, not a state. Jalisco is next. |
