Hi everyone.
Are there any government sponsored programs that place teachers in public schools in Thailand? There's a program here (five letter country, starts with a 'K' MOD EDIT that the government runs, where English teachers are placed into public schools and the contract is with the Ministry of Education.
This is far superior to the language institutes because the school is routinely monitored to insure that all deductions (tax, insurance, pension) are being paid and that all overtime is being paid as well. It's a really sweet deal, but alas, it isn't Thailand.
So, are English teachers employed by public schools? If so, what does the hiring process entail.
Thanks, and Happy Holidays all. |

Nope, no government sponsored programs, but individual government schools do hire, but you will only be teaching students rich enough to pay a tuition that goes about 30% to the teacher and 70% to the back pockets of school administrators(this doesn't apply to Ep programs as they are more formal fleecing arrangements) |
