Not what I would call a salary SCALE. It gives two ranges, one for starting salary and one for total salary, but doesn't say how fast one moves from the bottom to the top of the scale. is it automatic, is it 4% a year or 6% or is it dependent on performance?
Mind you it's a lot better than most employers who just say 'competitive salary' - that was maybe OK when the salaries were competitive but these days that's not necessarily the case. |

| I take it from that link that someone with a BA would start at $28,000 US. What about a Masters? |

That's been posted quite a few times Gordon. As I recall it is from 10,000 - 13,000 DH per month (US$2700-3500) depending on experience, of course.

| Because of the unfortunate and egregious politics of the previous local sponsor, a sleazeball collection of loathsome reprobates (does that give you an idea of my opinion of them?), the EFL salary at GMU is too sensitive to be broadcast in public, because of inquities in certain non-EFL departments. But I can say it's the same for all EFL faculty, and..well, it's more than competitive with HCT at the beginning. There is no annual increment yet, however. I intend to howl and moan about that next year. |

I stand corrected, Iamhere: M, that shows the RANGE of starting salaries, which I think is what you were asking about.
The SCALE is from the lowest number to the highest number, going up by 6% each year. Moving up the scale is dependent on satisfactory performance - technically not automatic, but as has been reported on here, it is rare (though not unknown) for people *not* to move up.
(GN Did you just edit your post? I addressed a point in your post, and now I can't read it. Perhaps I imagined it. Stranger things have happened.) |

| Yup, I edited it, trying to be as accurate as I can about salaries. So solly, Cholly, can you read it now? |

Yes, I addressed the bit that you edited out . So I edited that out as well because now it doesn't make sense. I still think I need to catch up on sleep, though. |

| ..but GMU is STILL more than competitive than what the apparent highest starting salary is at HCT! That's pretty close already...like asking you to guess how many fingers there are on my right hand! |

| I know. Anyway, I thought I saw someone mentioning a top starting HCT salary as DH 12,200. That was my reference mark for "GMU is more than competitive..". OK...how many fingernails do I have on one finger? |

| An update on salaries at GMU: the HR Manual shows there will be increments! Things are falling into place. Also, I really hope against hope they'll be on time in building the new campus, so we can live in on-campus villas. It's supposed to happen 18 months from now...well, we'll see. They will be "terrace homes" in American parlance, 1100 sq ft for singles (two bedrooms) and 2000+ sq ft (three bdrms) for families. |

"terrace homes" is American parlance? I thought it was British as I have never heard it here in 'murica. Do you mean townhouses or as some east coast cities call them 'row houses?'
Whatever you call them... sounds good.
