|
|
Hi,
Someone I know was interviewed for a teaching position at HCT. He told the interview team that he is interested in teaching HCT colleges in big cities but after a while his application was selected by one of the HCT colleges in the small city.
He contacted the central office as well as the college and told them that he is only interested in teaching at HCT in Abudhabi etc. since then he did not receive any e-mail from HCT whether his request was accepted or denied?
Does anyone of you have or heard such a experience before?
Do applicants have choice to choose colleges they want or do they have to accept any offer ?
How does the applicant know if his file is still kept in the interviewed and recommended pool?
Thanks

It seems there have been similar discussions about this before. I thought HCT frowned upon the "I'll only work here" applications. |

One of the quickest ways to remove your name from consideration at HCT is to declare that you will only work at a couple of branches. You really have little or no input, and that is always how it has been.
I'd say that he would have to reapply.

Knowing that the colleges, all of them, need a lot of new staff. I have a very hard time believing that the person was thrown out because he said he only wanted to go to a big city. What has happened a lot lately, since the HR people in Abu Dhabi are mostly new, they haven't been very timely in their getting back to the people applying. I know of many people left dangling for months!
If I were the person who wanted to go to one of the big colleges, I'd find out who was the supervisor of the program I wanted to teach in and try to get in that way.
That said, if people from a smaller college interviewed him, they get first choice to take him. That's the new rule at HCT.
Most colleges let you transfer to another college after some time. AND the smaller colleges can be very nice. |

I'm told by a friend at HCT RAK that they desperately need people in January, expect a similar pinch for the August hires. |
