A few years ago on holiday in Sri Lanka I met a teacher from the BC in Colombo. They got muslim, christian, buddist and... selanese(?) holidays. On average they worked 3.5 days a week.

My kind of job.

I heard today that there's a Christmas dinner at Cha Cha's near Carrefour in Bursa on Saturday 23rd Dec for yabancis. Price is 30 YLT for dinner and a drink, 37 YTL for dinner and unlimited wine. I know which option I'll be going for.

beware the unlimited wine option...I've been to several of those in the past, and what generally happens is that they start giving you the crappy dregs of weeks-old opened bottles of Trakya, until you're forced to give in and start coughing up for decent booze.

Thats always how they make their money, they hand out the cheapest wine, usually because they know so little about the stuff, being just raki and beer drinkers .I would forget the wine and go for something else that won't burn your internal organs out , some people say the gin and vodka is ok ,but I think its best use is for polishing the furniture . btw,is it possible to get half decent wine in this country?

As it is the season of goodwill I won't tell you about the boxing day fixtures... Go on Ollie, you can do it. Tell us which matches you won't be watching.

Sevilen wines are generally good and well priced, Gamay and Kara Salkim both at 8-9ytl in Tansas and very tasty! (Better than Yakut which is several lire more expensive).

Izmir has more understanding of wine now, too! Don't bother with the muck touted to tourists in Sirince, though!

Remember the tip from the New Testament. At the party serve the good wine first. Then when your guests are the worse for wear they won't botice that you are serving the low-quality stuff.

I haven't officially got Monday off, but I've moved my business english student to tuesday (my day off) instead. I'm sure the school wouldn't have any problems about that.

Most people I know have Monday off. We are actually having our Chistmas on Sunday so that Turkish partners/ friends don't miss out. I guess also the hangovers will be gone by Tuesday morning.
