Hello,

I have been somewhat searching for jobs in Russia - however I have just been sending employers emails asking questions and such not an actual resume.

I understand that in Russia, they seem to have a fascination with the CELTA. I do not have this but I do have a somewhat less prestigious but just as capable TEFL certification (Oxford Seminars). Now, I have been emailing these people yet no one ever seems to reply to my responses. Should I be sending my resume and CV at the same time as I am asking these questions?

I may not have the CELTA but my background makes up for it as I have a university degree which seems to be something they also cherish.

So, my question is - how should one go about even getting responses from people in Russia about teaching English and also does anyone know any places where I can inquire to besides EF, LL, and BKC. I am willing to work anywhere in Russia but would prefer Peter, Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Volgograd or Vladivstok.

Please I really need help here as I am giving up hope that people in Russia even have the internet as NO ONE seems to respond to emails.

Thank you all for your time in reading this and I hope you can make some suggestions or leave me some tips.

Thanks,

Erik.

Hi there.
I'm not sure why they're not responding. Almost all Russian English language schools I know of are desperate for native speakers.
One guess is that they've just dragged their feet getting back to you. Time works at a different pace here, and I wouldn't be surprised if it took them weeks to get back to you.
Also, why not send your resume? If you're actually looking for a job, you can ask all the questions you're curious about during the interview. Employers here would much rather spend time answering questions for prospective candidates than a random person sending emails.
(BTW, If you're looking into university work, you really need to be in country to have a shot.)
If you get to Vlad, let me know!
Good luck,
jp
