Why do you want it defined?

I'm not being sarcastic. In all seriousness, is there something wrong with easily available definitions such as this one , this one, or this one? (Your mileage may vary; teachers always seem to give these methods and approaches their own spins.)

Or is there some other underlying question?

Where the students use the target language to accomplish a task or being put in a situation where they use the target language more naturally, in context. Where you give the students an activity and make corrections and feedback according to the outcome and what arises. A heavily student centred activity.
