| I don't think NOVA does that anymore. Their association with Vodaphone is over I believe. In fact, NOVA doesn't even have the orientation session anymore-you just go straight to OJT |

The panic didn't hit me until I had been here a few months. A couple of the "older" folks here may remember when I freaked out. Anyways, having a good support system back home will help. People you can call that will advise you best and not tell you to quit. Think of it this way, who else can say they have lived and worked in Japan? Not anyone I know back home. If you feel really bad, PM me anytime! You will find at least three things you love about this country to counter all the things you might not. Be positive and things will work out.
Oh don't go with the NOVA phone deal. You can get one on your own with mininal Japanese speaking skills about four days after you get here. Apply for your gaijin card asap and you can take the paper your city office gives you to go get a cell phone. Hold out for a couple days and you'll be fine. Pick up a "Brastel" card from any combini and you can call home from a payphone that way for a while til you get the cell phone. Good luck! |
