I'm in the middle of packing and had a question. If the Nova thing doesn't work out and I start looking for another job, will other schools in Japan actually want to see my college diploma or will a copy suffice? I graduated from one of those pretensious southern universities that have really large diplomas so packing it would be a pain but I wouldn't feel good about mailing it either. I'm asking because at my Nova interview I had to bring the diploma so I was wondering if other schools are the same.

On that note, are there any other documents (besides passport of course) that I should consider bringing?

This has all been covered before. Try the search for a more detailed answer.

The quick answer is, bring your original degree. Furthermore, other paperwork you're going to want/need will be your bank account information from your home country, account numbers, transit numbers etc. if you would like to send money to your home account.

Hello. You already have a working visa for which one of the requirements is a diploma. Bring the diploma if you want. I brought mine just in case but none of my friends who switched jobs needed their diploma.
Don't forget your bank's swift code. It makes transfers easier.
Have fun in Japan.

You'll probably be fine with a computer scan of it that you can print out or email, if it's asked for, with a resume.

Immigration asks for the original document.

When I got my visa before I went to Japan they only wanted copies of my diploma. After that I never needed it again, even when I renewed my visa.
