As the post title suggests, do you think it exists in the EFL profession? Have you personally been a victim of it? I'm 37 and returning to the TESOL field after a multi-year hiatus. Am I gonna encounter it in Poland?

37 - you're a mere babe in arms.

My old (I mean ex- not referring to her age) director was a bit reluctant to offer work to over 60's but I don't think anyone's going to reject someone of your age. I would say a lot of schools like a few early 20's for the energy and attractiveness on the photo board but also like a few 'mature' teachers to calm them down and offer reliability (and someone who looks as if they are an experienced old-hand to send to the bank manager contract )

Also, adult students/ parents of kids, in my experience, tend to complain a lot more when faced with a youngster who they may have less respect for.

Not really, I was 43 when I went to work in Poland. Now, in Japan you might be considered over the hill, but not in Poland.

I'd say that being 30s was slightly favourable if anything in Poland.
