This may sound like a stupid question but if you start with a company and they take away the tax from your pay packet (as opposed to being self-employed and paying it yourself!) are the company obliged to pay ZUS?
I was told that outside the murky world of TEFL teaching companies have to pay ZUS (or at least a part-payment) but i was informed at an interview that they would minus 45 percent of my wage if i wanted them to pay ZUS which i though was nothign short of scandalous!
But then again the chances are i just dont know

if you're not self-employed the company should pay ZUS for you.I don't know if there are any other ZUS rates for foreigners but full version of ZUS is currently over 700 zloty per month. I don't know what you've got in your contract about who's paying what...

I may be wrong (I'm certainly pissed) but I'm not self employed and as far as I understand, under Umowa o Dzielo (I have 4) I don't pay any ZUS.

I've got one Umowa Zlecenie (sp) which I pay ZUS from.

The case is If you don't have any Umowa o Prace you have to pay ZUS from Umowa Zlecenie 'cause even If you're not self-employed having only Umowa o Dzieło (no matter how many) is not enough. That's why. I'm not surprised that you're pissed...

A contract that could also get me pissed - that would be a nice bonus.

Yea I pay no ZUS from my Umowa o Dzielo contracts. I've got no problem paying ZUS from my Umowa Zlecenie - it's percentage based. I'm curious as to why you think I'd be pissed/off with that.
