i'm going to spend the semester in beijing and i'll have $4500 to spend. my room is going to be free and i won't spend too much in china, but i'm going to spend about six weeks in southeast asia and 10 days in japan (unless it's going to cost too much). is it possible to get by with $1000 including the plane ticket to and from beijing? i'll stay in a hostel and i want to go out every night. are people in the clubs every night of the week?...how is rappongi? |

Hostel: 3500/night
Dinner at a cheap restaurant: 1200 yen
Dinner at a nice restaurant: 2500 yen
Cheap lunch: 700 yen
Club cover: 2000-4000 yen (avg)
Drinks at a club or bar: pricey (500-800 a pop at least)
Train rides if you are going all over the city every day: 1000+/day
Taxi home if you miss the last train (around midnight): 1000 at least. Probably 2000.
If you are going to stay in Tokyo and go out every night and eat out every meal, it's not going to be cheap.
You do the math. |
