| See it as a two year deal and do your probationary year after doing your PGCE: it will give you a) more credibility in employers' eyes as you will have a year's certified experience in a UK school and b) a base of experience to draw upon when dealing with e.g. behavioural problems in the classroom. |

For what it's worth, I got a job in an IB international school with a degree in languages and a DELTA - but I am part of the "English Support" department (in other words, EFL), I have nothing to do with any IB or IGCSE teaching.
I am not sure how common cases like these are. |
