Heya Sweetsee

Check these out for starters. It's all I've got at present, but it might help.

I take it from the proper noun that the Metropolis is some sort of publication, perhaps? (As opposed to just wandering around the metropolis looking for schools, right! Laughing )

So what is it? Where can I get it?

Oh, and Sweetsee, when you'Ve found some stuff, can you post it back here?

Cheers

You bet Tanuki, I'll do that.
Metropolis is the ex-pat freebie. Check the website to find out where you can get the latest issue that comes out on Fridays.
Be cool,

I've been taking courses at the YMCA for about a year. I think it's pretty good. There's a balance of kanji and conversation. The teachers are obviously qualified and give well-planned and serious lessons - serious in the sense that there are clear learning goals. We still manage to laugh regularly in class. They even give you homework, although if you don't do it no-one sends you to the office or anything.
It's an especially good course for someone who is willing to put in the time into reviewing the lessons and keeping up with the kanji. Personally, between family and work I don't have that much time so I just pick up what I can from the class. They are fine with that too and I simply don't move up the levels as quickly as others. Also the classes are very small. There are only 3 people in my low-intermediate class so I get to ask all the questions I want about my particular needs. It works to about 1,200 yen an hour and there are 2 classes a week, 2 hours each. Hope that helps.
