"Chinse age?" Confused

How, praytell, would your Chinese age be three years less than your actual age? I've seen this mentioned more than once, and I have to admit you've got me stumped here.

I know in Korea, you are one at birth and then on January 1st everyone turns a year older. You don't actually turn a year older on your birthday.
No wonder the mass Moonie weddings were so popular.

I have heard of that before. That would explain being off a year here or there.

What space/time continuum allows for a three year age difference? I recall a one hour shift moving from Japan, so I'm missing something.

I thought the Chinese add one year to their biographical age as they think of themselves when they were in the womb of their mother as being one year.

Yeah, Roger is right. Your Chinese age is older than your western age.

I was told the Chinese age depends on how many Chinese New Year's you have witnessed.

So if you were born just before Chinese New Year your Chinese age would be different from someone born the day after.

Question Question Question

Can anyone verify this for the fourm?

Yeh Gordon is right in Asia you are 1 when you are born. So you can subtract a year. In my case I am subtracting a decade. Are you 30??? I want a second opinion on that.
