|

Hello,
I will be coming to Saudi soon and have a few questions.
#1. In China, the school that I signed the contract with would not let me work anywhere else. I mean, in China, I could only work one job and any other job was technically "illegal". I worked only about 12-14 hours per week and wanted to find another job but the school said it was not allowed. In Saudi, I am wondering if schools are very uptight about that, I mean, if a school hires you, is there a rule that you cannot work a second job as well?
#2. I love football so much and although Saudi Arabian football is certainly not my first choice in the world, I figure some football is better than no football. What about the Saudi Premier Football Clubs? Can foreigners go to the games and what about the prices?
Thank you for your help in enableing me to understand Saudi better. |

The prices depend on the size of your feet. More your feet's size is large, more the price is high. |

You mean you didn't get his joke? I thought it was quite good. A naive OP question got a good-natured sarcastic answer. Par for the course here isn't it?
My main problem with 007 is that he doesn't drink. A character flaw I'm prepared to overlook. |

Many contracts include a clause specifically prohibiting employees from accepting paid work anywhere else. Even if your contract does not specify this, I have heard that Saudi labour law forbids foreigners working for more than one employer. That said, many teachers supplement their income by taking on private students. So long as these lessons do not constitute a conflict of interest (ie. so long as you are not teaching your college's own students, and your extra-curricular activities do not interfere with your day job) most employers turn a blind eye Of course, if you do wish to take on private students, keep it discreet as it is very likely against the terms of your contract. Taking on a second job in another language school is much more risky, and probably best avoided.

Yes, with one important proviso: you must be male. |

Yes, Van, you are right, they did not get my joke, I think they were a little bit drunk when they replied to my post. I think they took an overdose of that Purple juice, especially Sheikh Inal, I think he drunk that Purple juice in buckets.

Oh, Van, why is it your main problem that King Cobra doesn't drink? Of course King Cobra drinks Alhambra Beer without Alcohol, which is produced by Ali Baba supplier in Spain.
So, Van, I invite you and the others to my party, and test Alhambra Beer with a BBQ of snakes in the Empty Quarter of the Saudi Desert.
Enjoy the party. |

As George Michael said:
"Drinking is natural, drinking is good, not everybody does it, but everybody should."
Beer without alcohol? No way baby.

Seems the 'Galacticos' are cashing in for one last pay day. Figo has just signed an 18 month contract with a side in Jeddah. My students tell me that Ronaldo may also be coming to Saudi for a final pay day as he enters the Fat Elvis - Las Vegas chapter of his career.
Don't even get me started on One Trick Beckham! |

A baseless canard VS. A closer reading of my post will reveal no such misquote. Indeed, it seems the real culprit here is the infernal 007. Will he ever learn? |
