Hi all,
I'm looking to teach part-time in HCM City for a few months. I don't have a CELTA, but I have a BS,am working on an MEd in ESL, and I have 3 years experience teacing ESL (2 1/2 in JApan, and 1/2 in Hawaii).
What am I looking at job-wise? Will it be hard to get a job without a CELTA? What's the pay range for my situation? Are schools always looking for part-timers?
Thanks |

If you're just looking for a part-time work for a few months, you won't have any problem landing a job. But try to avoid the months before and after the Chinese New Year holiday because that's when all industry including ESL will wind down for the holiday season and hiring will be very very slow. But any other months, you won't have any problem for short part-time work if you're white and fairly decent looking.
Be careful not to get ripped off or get ran over when you get here.
Good luck. |
