Hello Tanuki. Yes you can be a CELTA trainer in a Japan as I am about to start just such a job.
I'm also a 'lifer' s I know what you're talking about. A word of caution about the necessary requirements to be a trainer: some TESOL Masters are not enough - especially if they don't contain an observed teaching element or if not accompanied by a range of experience. Other than that, I may be able to help you. I'm new to this so not sure if theres a way to email without posting it publicly? ? Can you contact me?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Did you need to do a specific CELTA trainer course? |

Basically, the training is on-the-job in that you have to observe and take part in a currently running training course.
You would be better off contacting Cambridge to ask them for specifics. |
