Don't even think about Singapore. Until surprisingly recently long hair for men was technically illegal there. Chewing gum, taking a wet umbrella into a mall or government office without putting it into a plastic bag, and failing to ensure that a public toilet has been flushed successfully are still crimes in Sing.

I think your chances wouldn't be so great in Taiwan either, they seem easily freaked out about things deemed 'not normal'. I have a fairly normal hair cut (well, not really a cut - i cut my dreads off, shaved in a mohawk and let it grow out for 7 months), but it was a dark reddish colour. Almost EVERY SINGLE PERSON has asked why my hair is so red. And then trying to touch the tiny stud I where in my lip at work (really, you can barely see it).

But, your dreads are beautiful!

I don't get it. Why do people want to put metal in their face? To me it makes a person look like a wide-mouth bass that broke the line and got away.
Confused

Hey lou_la,
You got a job with a red mohawk and a lip ring? I'd say my chances are better then I expected if thats the case.

I would have thought that in Taiwan - the home to the world's crappiest teen soap opera 'Meteor Garden' - people would be used to seeing some fairly dodgy coiffs.
