Is it worth gettin an apartment before a job ? Or is it better to go job hunting from a hostel so that you can live closer to work?
Also seein as I'm in Taiwan right now and go to work and the pub lookin like a beach hobo, I'm not sure what to expect clothes wise in Madrid. Is it suits to work or just a shirt and tie? And does everyone go around at night lookin like a catalogue model or is it ripped jeans and tshirts?

Hostel first: you'll need a couple of weeks to work out where the areas you like are. Your main priority when you land is getting a Spanish SIM card for your mobile phone.

In every country in the world the smarter the better, especially for interviews, after that you can dress down when you get the feel of the individual companies dress codes (assuming you end up teaching business classes) - personally I generally wear (clean and relatively smart) jeans, t-shirt and running shoes, but there's one other company where it's shirt and tie only: not because anybody told me anything, but because I felt like a t*t in jeans.

In the evening the Spanish are pretty well-dressed: it depends on your age and what sort of scene you're into obviously. They're not like the Italians, but if you want to meet a nice Spanish girl a nice shirt will do you no harm at all.

I take it the Italians tend to get a little over dressed when they leave their houses?? Laughing
