1.) Where have you taught?
Canada, Japan, Costa Rica.
2.) How long have you been teaching?
11 years
3.) Which country was the best to live in? (best quality of life)
Tough question, but I would have to say Canada.
4.) Which country was the worst to live in?
Poor quality of life in Japan, but then Costa Rica has a crime problem.
5.) Which country had the best students? Why?
Costa Rica wins on this one, although many of my Japanese students were really motivated, high-achievers too.
6.) Which country had the worst students? Why?
Other Japanese students rarely spoke in class, making my job nearly impossible at times.
7.) WHere did you find it the easiest to make local friends?
Canada, because I was a local!
8.) Where did you have your best vacation overseas?
Travelled extensively in Central America and Mexico, and the best places I went to I am keeping as a secret, so that they stay that way!
9.) Where did you have your worst vacation overseas?
Bocas del Toro, Panama. Constant downpour the whole time that I was there, and the locals were obsessive about trying to find ways to get my cash.
10.) Where would you like to retire or semi-retire?
Retire? Why would I want to do that?
11.) Where would you like to teach in the future
Right where I am.
12.) How much longer would you like to teach?
As long as my heart is in it. |
