I was looking at Air Arabia, the Gulf Version of El Cheapo Aerolinio. Wow. Nasty flight times. Long wait at Sharjah and it arrives in the Turkish equivalent of Luton - Sabiha Gokcen. Any comments.

For me it is a few hundred riyals cheaper but AT A TERRIBLE COST !

Scot, unless you were actually wanting to go to Luton, would you fly there?

Also, I believe the service bus to Taksim stops really early so unless you want to spend many hours stuck at the airport until the morning you'll end up shelling out many well earned desert dollars on a taxi. It is a loooooooong way out.

Spend the extra 100 or so Rats and fly (even)Gulf Air or whatever to Ataturk airport.

Yes. That was the conclusion I arrived at too.

El Cheapo is usually not so cheap !

I flew Gulf Air last time I went to the UAE and it was fine. Does it have a bad reputation?

i have just recently heard that if you land in sabiha gokcen there are services to taksim after each flight, but still...

out of all the gulf airlines gulf air is the worst. it used to be extremely bad but then a few years ago it got taken over or something and it has changed a lot.

All that unnecessary fannnying about just to save a few Kurus, is it worth the hassle .Just pay the extra and get it done properly and in some style .Why are teflers such tightwads ?

It is the TEFL law. Anyway how could they afford to go to India and Dubai?

It all depends where you are coming from and where you are going to...

Easyjet and Luton work out quite well for me as I am invariably travelling to Glasgow when I visit the U.K. Agreed...Luton is a typical English town with nothing of interest to offer but the airport serves it's function well. Sabiha Gokcen is also better for me as I drive to Istanbul from Eskisehir (the powers that be say we will have our own airport soon...) and it means I don't need to cross the bridge. The only minor point is that the airport doesn't offer covered parking facilities which means that my car is usually covered in bird crap when I get back. The duty free shop is also the worst I have ever seen, even worse than Sharjah's or Dubai's terminal 2.

Has anybody ever flown Kish Air? Now they are a crap airline. Flew them once from Dubai to Tehran and never thought I'd last the journey. My folks live in Dubai so I fly to the Emirates every 3 months or so and I'd never consider flying Air Arabia...why bother when you can add an extra 150 Euros to your fare and fly Emirates where they call you sir and serve decent food and whisky and with the new fast track system at Dubai airport you're out of the airport before you know it. Class airport and class service. Forget Sharjah...hell hole of a place...the worst of all the Emirates.

Yes I will stick with Gulfair. It leaves here at a civilised hour and arrives in a real airport.

Sabiha Gokcen is all very well for Rangers Supporters en route for Eskisheir or Anatolia. Not for a Dunfermline supporter headed to Plovdiv.

Of course. I have regular meetings. I am President, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Convenor and Sole Member.

Sometimes Committee Meetings are VERY animated. And I don't even drink !

Do you hold meetings in the happy bar and grill with the dancing girls(the one opposite Gusto's) If so, I'd attend.

Plovdiv is a super place. So is Veliko Turnovo ( Take the Istanbul-Bucharest train. It arrives in Veliko Turnovo at about 10.20 AM).

If you want a quiet rural B&B where you can unwind, try www.skavivascot.hit.bg
