I think that private schools must vary some in regard to summer/winter vacation. At our school we get about 5 weeks off in summer and we can leave for that entire time, fully paid. I realize though that we must be quite fortunate in that regard. Also, in terms of the time limit, at my school there is none, but the salary increases do end at a certain point for FT non-tenured (non-homeroom) teachers, at which point they usually move on. So as far as each individual situation is concerned, you jmay not know until you get there and ask.
