The job information journal was great. I liked reading about peoples' experiences in-depth.
What happened to it??????????

Went the way of the dinosaur, apparently, and some time ago. Oh well...there are a few other sites on the net to catch similar stories, but none as deep as the JIJ |

The demise of the job information journal, that was not good. A lot of good information was lost. If you have a story to share, you can always share it on this forum or even go to another site like teflwatch. |

I agree: those journals were excellent for hearing how some schools _really_ were.
Dave cut them several months ago. |

The problem was that so much of the info was out of date. They could have been a good resource, but I saw a lot of people arrive in Ecuador absolutely convinced of the truth of things they'd seen in the JIJ- and shocked to learn that a lot of it was posted years ago.
And times change...
I no it's not a popular view, but I was pretty glad to see it go.
Best,
Justin |

I actually stopped using Dave's for over a year after the Job Information Journal disappeared!
I'm just speculating, but I guess Dave must have been facing too many legal hassles over it. |

Personally, I didn't really like it, because the Mexico list seemed to be pretty much a war over Culturalingua. With either people singing it's praises or totally trashing it, with out a lot in between.
I would like to second Sgt Killjoy that teflwatch is a neat, though drasitically under used site. Why don't you all go over there and post about the schools in Latin America where you have worked? I did. |
