Tentatively thinking about heading over to Mongolia this summer for a couple of weeks.
Has anyone been there for the Naadam festival? Is lodging hard to come by? Is it expensive? Any info greatly appreciated. |

Mongolia is a great place! Frankly, I am in love with the scenery and the people.
Lodging can be very cheap. I suggest the Lonely Planet guide...they are quite accurate (I went to India and Korea in 2005 and have used all 500+ pages of the book. They were wrong on only two occasions)
Mongolia is not expensive, but it is not a built up place. You would find that travelling in the countryside and riding horses would be more of a joy than just hanging around the capital.
What do you plan to do there? |

I'm interested in seeing the Naadam festival. It's like the Mongolian "traditional sports Olympics", if you will. I've always wanted to see it and was wondering if anyone had been there in the past.
I'm most interested in hearing about lodging possibilities during Naadam. (That's "lodging", not "gouging"
Thanks for your response! |
