Hi, just wanted to get a little clarification before a possible move and the title is guaranteed to get some attention I imagine. I am not actually a skinhead but I do shave my head down to a number one cut while being very smart otherwise. I have lots of good shirts and suits so I actually do look very smart but will having a crew cut be a disadvantage in finding work in the same wasy as a tatoo would be?
I also wonder something else. I have a B.Ed and many years experience teaching and so want to have all the information with me for a work permit application. Now, the crux is that I am english but am an ex-pat who has worked and lived abroad (sweden) since 95, would my criminal background check have to come from sweden or from my home country? I have not lived in england for many years but I have actually taught there too then I also thought that as I have an english passport it may look odd to have a background check from another country. I assume it must be from sweden but thought I would ask anyway. Anyone happen to have come over to teach in VN from sweden? |

Your crew cut will suit the hot weather in Vietnam just fine. Don't worry about your hair cut as long as you look decent. Ditch the suits (it's just too hot to wear suit) and just bring good casual or dress shirts and slacks.
As for the criminal background check thingy, I'm certain that you would have to get it from the country where you have the passport with. In your case, it would be from England.
Good luck! |

Thanks for the prompt answer. Seems odd to get a background check in a country where I have not lived sinca 95 but you are probably right, maybe I'll get one from both countries anyway just to be safe.
Thanks again |
