Anyone worked in any? What are the opportunities in International Schools for native speaking teachers in Czech?
Thanks.

Perhaps if you were a little more specific someone might be able to give you some advice.
If I were to ask a question such as:
'Can anyone tell me about high schools in the USA?'
You see what I mean..................
If you mean schools that teach all subjects in English then I know of a couple in Ostrava and Olomouc and I'm sure there are a few in and around Prague.
My mates tell me that it's not so easy to get work in these schools as they charge a hefty fee to parents and require highly qualified and experienced teachers not just CELTA freshers with a backpack (I'm not alluding to you here robitusson).
I tried to get a job with an International School in Ostrava a couple of years ago, and with only a BA and a CELTA I was told that I wasn't qualified. They told me they had to justify employing me with the Ministry of Education and that I would have to teach another subject other than English.
I think, since they joined the EU, Czech is trying to modify its education system to fit in with broader European standards and this could mean not so many 'conversation teacher' jobs going at state schools..................that's just my feeling, I am willing to stand corrected on this one. |

Thanks for the reply. By International Schools I mean schools that teach all their subjects through English and only hire qualified, experienced teachers.

Do you know where these schools advertise positions or where I can get a bit more information about finding work with these kinds of schools in Czech?
Thanks again. |

Can you tell me what the names of the two you've mentioned here are? |
