Anyone have recent information on what is involved in order to set up satellite TV in Jeddah. We will be living on a compound and would like to have satellite TV.

Orbit lists the prices at around 190 to 150 SR a month....looks pretty good but US networks not available (NBC, CBS, ABC, etc.).

NBA playoffs will be coming up in a few months..don't want to miss that....sports channels on satellite tv seem to run only soccer and cricket matches (would rather a read book instead). Crying or Very sad

Is this as good as it gets?
Thanks in advance.

Orbit is not the only package available. Th emain competitor is Showtime. There are other packages.

The compound may have some special deal and may have cable.

Can't you wait until you are in situ ? Maybe the rospct of a life without the boob tube makes your skin creep ?

Thanks....I will see what I can find out about Showtime and the channels it provides....probably the hardest adjustment for me, the last time I was in KSA, was not being able to watch NBA and NFL games.
When you live on a compound you tend to spend most of your time at home.....and we want to make the transition as easy as possible....Besides, the selection at Jareer isn't quite the same as Borders here in the US.
BTW if you are a soccer or cricket fan...you don't have to miss a game...the channels available in KSA show every one. Laughing
