Well a more helpful OP wouldn't have drawn such responses. I know a lot of people who say "like" all the time in their speech but to frickin write it is another thing.
Try not to like say "like" you know every 5 like frickin seconds in your frickin interview, mmkay? |

I sometimes say "frickin" myself. But then, there's no limit to how low my sense of humour may go.
Sorry you got flamed a bit, Tricia. But there may have been some valuable info in there- how to apply depends A LOT on where you want to go, and what you have on your resume. Without this info, your post really was a shot in the dark.
I'll respond to what LS650 wrote, because I think that it shows how much variation there is, even amongst countries that get lumped together as Latin America. I prefer greatly to hire before people arrive in country- because at the end of the day, getting a visa for someone who's already here is such a frickin hassle that I'm willing to risk hiring at a distance.
Some other schools feel differently, especially if they don't have my aversion to illegal employment.
Best,
Justin |

| Wow! I am impressed with how many feathers I ruffled...In fact I am a little bit scared and sort of wished that I didn't post it at all or perhaps at a time when I wasn't feeling so frustrated. And I will really try to restrain myself from using the word frickin in my interview...if I can. |

| It's more that you should have given people more info about where you want to go etc. |

No feathers ruffled here.
Keep sending, and you'll get something.
Where are you, Jammish? Is that a capibara?

I'm in China... yes. it's a capybara - no relation to my location! Just thought it's an animal that deserves a bit more publicity. |
