Well,an interesting thread, sort of....WorkingVaca(Working Cow?)Well...there are all kinds of handles...I even remember one called "Syphiltic Palate"(boy, that one makes you wonder!!!!)

This thread has a little of everything, including the lyrics to that old Buffalo Springfield song.Kvido cautions us to check behind ourselves in case anyone is lurking back there....As I type this,I am glancing nervously behind my chair. For all I know there MIGHT be some attempts to connect people with their real names(of course,in my case,it is pretty obvious).

Oh,WorkingVaca,I am in Korea right now((don't cringe,Kvido!!!).And Harry, are you absolutely sure Poland is in Central Europe, not eastern Europe?Hope you are enjoying Warsawa!!! Have fun, guys!!And relax a little. Smile

Well, I had a good laugh today! Very Happy

It seems Kvido's been banned from this board! Shocked

Let this be a lesson to anyone who complains against the policies of this board. Evil or Very Mad

Note I don't like the SOB anyway - I'm his colleague and he's always hogging the computer every day and cursing at the screen. Sometimes he hits it. Rolling Eyes

Boy, you should have heard him today!!! Shocked

Dear winston,
Just how does one go about getting " banned " from this board? I looked in the FAQ, but there wasn't anything specifically dealing with that. Is there a " list of no-nos " anywhere or is it entirely up to the " moderator's discretion "? I didn't see anything posted by kvido that I thought could be considered " ban-worthy " ( but, since I don't know what IS, that doesn't mean much ). It couldn't be simply because he was " suspicious " about the identities of people on this board being " misused ", could it? If a moderator's moderating, could we get some info on the banning process?
Thanks,
John

Dear winston,
Whoops - my mistake. I just checked Dave's " Reminder of the Rules ", and it does talk about banning - in a generally specific way:

" You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). "

So, if kvido was banned, I suppose he was seen to have violated one of my above. " Abusive " or " slanderous ", perhaps?
Regards,
John

Melee and Brenda

I had a great laugh from your repsonses. I have family and friends that live in all three countries (Mexico, Canada, and the US) and WE all think we live in North America (including the ones in the US that are notoriously challenged in Geography.)

Laughing

I agree that anything that you put on the net can be read and identified by anyone that wants to take the time.

Shocked

Whoah! Does this thread win the longevity contest, then? Eight months on from the original post, here it still is. It just keeps going and going, like that darn energizer bunny.

At the time of the original post, I was neither in Japan nor registered with this wonderful forum. My, how times change.

methinks you are not very focussed at the moment:-)
I'm teaching in the UK - but locally all I can get at the moment is teaching Italian at evening class. Wish the GBP was weaker and a few more refugees get sent locally!

Well, it's taking quite a while--reading through some of these older posts & threads. A slow Friday evening at this end--obviously! Very Happy

This thread is fun. I especially liked the references to:
--accurate knowledge of geography--or lack thereof. This "theme" is evident in the poll itself, i.e. how different "regions" are defined,
--paranoia, referred to several times, I believe.
Fun! Cool
Hey . . . btw, is/was Kvidio truly banned? Interesting.
