Just got a GEOS interview confirmation a few hours ago!

Just wondering if anyone else is headed to the same session...

And if anyone has any tips on the process, please send them my way!

I did that interview 10 1/2 years ago because I thought it might be nice to have work set up before I came to Japan. I made it through all of the rounds to the final interview, after which they told me something to the effect that I had potential but I still needed a little work. Please come back after you've picked up a little more experience.
Well, I would be nice to be set up in advance, and if they pay for your ticket, that would be nice, too. But for the seemingly highly experienced teachers they're seeking, I don't think Geos offers anything that's better than anyone else. Now, I'm not totally sure of that, so anybody please feel free to correct me.
What I did in the end is what most people do, I came to Japan and found a job. This option has it's downsides too, but one upside is that you can choose the city that you would prefer to work in.

I'm not taking a shot at you, mapraopenrai; I just want to know if this statement is accurate. Is it? Of course, anyone's free to answer.

Nobody's answered yet. I can't give you figures, and I may be wrong. It could be that most people that come over here are JETs, in which case they're set up in advance. If you can get that gig, I think it's probably the best starting gig in town. I have to admit to being jealous of all those young wet behind the ears kids coming over here and getting AT LEAST as much as I do now after having been here for 10 years, and I'm teaching full time in a private high school now.
Again, I don't know exactly what Geos is offering. If they're paying for your ticket here, that's pretty decent. I would hope that they are at least setting you up in an apartment. The initial cost of getting into an apartment is extremely high here, so would be good, too. I doubt that they will pay for your apartment. But if they are doing most of these things, then you might as well go for the interview.
