Why do all private insurance plans for expats cover only dental emergencies? Is there one that covers check-ups, cavity fills, and maybe more serious stuff? I'm used to top-notch dental coverage in the States which took care of everything.

Please-- no tired references to scooters, Canuck!

If you smash your teeth with your silly mode of transportation (notice I didn't use the word), you it will be covered by ex-pat insurance. Routine dental is not that expensive. Most people pay out of the pocket. A cleaning will cost you between 3500-5500 yen. |

I have private health insurance/pension (equiv. to Shakai Hoken) through my school that covers dental. I got a cleaning and a filling a couple months ago that cost 1000 yen. |

it's still a reference. Why do you even bother if you're not going to help? Ran out of hobbies?? |
