I've read that Burger King pulled out of Japan a few years ago, but I've also heard of mystical rumors that they still exist. Id slay a dragon for a juicy flame-broiled whopper. So can anyone tell me, fact or fiction? |

The only ones I remember were in Suidobashi and Seijogakuenmae, and I think they both closed. If you know any US military, you might be able to score a trip to the Burger King on base. |

If you want a decent burger, i recommend Freshness Burger or perhaps MOS Burger. If you want to spend more yen, there's TGI Friday's.
I've never seen a Burger King in Japan. If you're REALLY DESPERATE, I suppose you can fly to Seoul! |

I hear they will be making a come back in Japan sometime soon. Since now(has been for awhile) the company is owned by Ze Americans I guess they think they'll have another pop at it their way.

Forget the big American chains, dudes, and embrace the Japanese burger experience!

Does Freshness Burger still have that Spam number on the menu? I was afraid to try it... Spicy MOS Burger's my favorite, though. |

i'm a burger king (hungry jacks - in aust) guy. i believe that burger king here were bought out by lotteria - one reason why there is 2 lotteria's in harajuku within a very short distance. burger king however have decided to have another crack here which i am sure people will embrace when they first open but after a while who knows.
as for japanese chains i like mos burger and freshness burger - closest thing to in'n'out from cali. also first kitchen - but not for their burgers just because i could live on their fries. i haven't had wendys here or mcdonalds so i can't compare those. have had numerous other great burgers outside of the chains - i believe a place in shinjuku is American Burger - i think thats its name and they were pretty good. i think the best i have had was in Namjatown in Sunshine 60 and i dont remember the places name but worth the entrance fee and the weird environment and i cant go past some good gyoza. |

Canuck, you appreciate food. Good on you!
Would you share the name of the establishment that serves such magnificent burgers?
Edit - Never mind, followed the link. Lunch time... |

With Mega Macs selling out, it's just a question of time before the Burger Thing is back. I think they left because the whopper was just too big for Japanese people. |

It's true that Burger King will be back in Japan I think middle of this year or early next year. I'm so glad cause I won't have to drive to Zama to get my fix...
And I was in Thailand last month and the food was awful, especially the "Western" food. I think Mac there may have given me a tapeworm!
