Nice bookshop in the Seef Mall. Quite addictive and one of my main reasons for heading to Bahrain.
Can I now expect some snide comment from a certain person who likes to save ? |

They are opening a new bookshop/greeting card shop in the new extension soon and the present one will close. It will be much bigger.
Have you tried the other books plus shop in Al Ali Mall next to Seef? It is smaller but sometimes has books that the seef mall one doesn't. |

Jashanmall is pretty good - however for cheaper books (500 fils) check out London Auctions in Adliya. All the books are 2nd hand though we managed to find some in excellent condition - so good in fact they did look brand new. Admittedly you'll need to wade through the Jackie Collins rubbish but definately worth a look. |

Is that the one on Exhibition Avenue?
There is also a bookshop in Budaiya just up the road from Al Osra supermarket. |

Yeah, the one near Al Osra is really good especially for EFL stuff for kids. But the other one on the Budaiya Highway (near the vodafone shop) is pretty useless. |

London Auctions is in Adliya - just up the road and round the corner from Fudruckers. It does just look like the usual 'junk shop' type place but inside there are couple of bookshelves where the odd gem can be found. They do seem to have quite a few detective/thriller type books if thats your thing. |

The new book shop is great - was there the other week. There's a much better selection now and was able to get a couple of books I was planning to get from Amazon. Decided that after paying postage on amazon stuff it makes just as much sense to buy the books here - and they will order in for you....
To get to it - go up to the food hall and you'll see a 'pasageway' for want of a better word - on your right as you're facing the cinema. Walk along there and it's on your right. |
