Saw the the film "Queen" recently worth a look,Helen Mirren plays the part of H.R.H. really well almost regal can't say the same about the others and Alistair Campbell comes across as a nasty piece of work. So do you think the monarchy is something we (Brits) should be proud of or do you feel the time is right for the Republicians ? Sounds like a great name for a band . Btw noticed Camila was kept out the story .

Yes ,couldn't agree more .Now are you a Royalist or not? Should that be Cavalier or Roundhead ?
Should we just direct ALL questions to the "men" thread then you won't have to jump from thread to thread ?

Wouldn't say I'm a royalist but do quite like having a monarchy. Think it's more to do with tradition as it would seem strange without them.
Also think of the cost if we got rid of them. Would need to change stamps, money etc.

The Monarchy is the back bone of Britain. God Save the Queen.

The British monarchy is wonderful. The Queen has done her country, colonies, and her ancestors proud. She's a top-rate lady. Pity the next generations, I only hope William can be as regal.

Monarchies are undemocratic, therefore the USA should Britian.

Seriously though, the Queen is a silly old trout, her husband is massive racist, her children come across as retarded and her mum smelt of p*ss.

Remove them from power at once.

Rule Brittania, Brittania Rule the Waves. Prince P is the main man and is an honorary member of the Govan Orange Lodge. I would love to buy him a pint and pick his brains.

I presume Reading FC fans are royalists(Golightly?) Where does the nickname come from. I have also discovered that there is an ice hockey team in the states called the Reading Royals. A coincidence?

we used to be the Biscuitmen back when Huntley & Palmers were still churning out Garibaldis; However, the name always sounded slightly porno in a boys-only public school kind of way. the Royals moniker came around 'cos we're in the royal county of Berkshire. There is nothing remotely regal about the town itself. It looks like a midlands industrial town that got itself lost and dumped itself down by the side of the Thames, weeping.

Thats a myth. I went to public school and never once observed or participated in a game of soggy biscuits
