|
|
Hi there,
I've accepted a contract with Westgate to start in May. I've also chosen to use their housing ('cause I'm only going to stay three months, not planning to renew.)
I have a question for those of you who have worked for Westgate regarding their housing policies: it states that you shouldn't have visitors stay overnight. But I am wondering how strictly this policy is actually enforced. People are planning to come and visit me and stay at my house - hopefully this won't be a problem.
Thanks for the information! |

Gimme a break! Next clause will be to forbid what color underwear you can wear. Telling you that you cannot have guests overnight is illegal. How can they forbid you from your mother coming over, or anyone else for that matter? They can't. |

It's not illegal you drama queen.
In answer to the OP, who is ever going to know? I worked for Westgate for four terms and I think that the only reason that they put that in the contract is to prevent 'wild' parties. They must have been burnt in the past.
Do you know where you'll be working? One of my friends is going to be there that term as well. Look out for her. Her name is Peggy. Distinctive name. You can't miss her.
Have fun.
Ps. one big tip for you. In the training, talk to as many people as possible and get as many phone numbers as possible. |

Thanks Zorro for your reply. That's what I figured but I just wanted to hear some personal experiences just in case. You never know.
Not sure exactly where I'll be yet but I'll keep an eye out for your friend.
Cheers! |

If any contract says they can fire you over something like that, is it legal? At best, let's just say it has no legal grounds. |

Sorry to be pedantic, but it does not say that they will fire you. |

I just received an offer from Westgate for the University program... I was wondering about that too.
How could they know if you have people stay overnight? As long you aren't noisy it should be OK right? |

I was just thinking to myself: "What this forum needs is more threads on Westgate". |

zorry,
What DOES it say is the penalty if you have someone sleep over? Stop stringing this out if you know so much. |

It doesn't say anything is the penalty. It just says that you are not allowed over night guests. That's it. Full stop. End of story. No stringing out. |

Then what does happen if you break this rule? Nothing?
Seems strange (to say the least) to have a rule without punishment. There must be something. If not, what sense does imposing the rule have? |
