Glenski,
Is your mature wisdom tiring?
Take a break my friend. Take a break.

People keep getting on your case because you keep trying to avoid the simple truth: the requirements for getting a visa DO apply to you. If you meet the requirements (and there are several ways to go about this) you can get a visa, and if you can't, you can't. And if you break the rules and get caught, you're in deep, deep trouble.

If you think you can flout the system and sidestep the rules, then go for it. No skin off my nose. Come back and tell us how it went. The thing is, posters like you talk big, but they never come back with their "I told you so" triumph.

as far as respecting veteran posters? i certainly do initially, but it all goes out the window if my troll alarm goes off.

I stand by what I said about you probably not meshing well with hierarchical Japanese society if this is your attitude. Veteran posters try to give you sound information, and you say you don't respect them because you think they are trolls? A troll is someone who flames for the purpose of provocation. The people who replied to your posts have been here for years, answering questions from newbies using well-researched, factually backed up information - you just don't like what they said because it wasn't what you wanted to hear. Hardly trolls.

I think you should go to some country in southeast Asia with more relaxed immigration rules.

nah. He'll definitely never mesh well with Japanese hierarchical society.
(the last comment was tongue in cheek).

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Some of the things that I read on this forum are brilliant. Absolutely class.
Fookin hilarious.

I feel for the guy who started this thread.

Sometimes you feel like you shouldn't have bothered asking.

The last few pages of posts weren't about the topic at all. Just "he said, She said" stuff.

I'm pretty sure people like Glenski are paid by Daveseslcafe to keep threads going.

They'll probably delete this......

Getting back to the topic, You could find private students on "find a teacher/student websites"

Maybe you could set up a bunch of them before you get here.

Depending on how much "charm" you have, you might get a lot of students.

Too bad you'll have to keep leaving every 90 days to get a new visa without being sure you'll be allowed back in. But hey, there you have it.

Good Luck!!!

crazyteacher,
And, after 4 pages, you've essentially added nothing.

I get paid nothing to be here, but you already knew that. Just more of...how did you put it?... more "he said, she said" stuff.

I've tried to cut through the B.S. and misunderstandings here, and yet the OP has refused to come back and state what he wants.

I'm with Glenski, though I agree sometimes Glenski could turn down the heat.

ldeeep Glenski has been trying to give you the real deal Smile . He has lived here a while (myself about the same period of time, 10 year anniversary coming up in June) and is certainly not a troll ( I thought I too was living under a bridge, but discovered my place has walls Laughing ).

You have stated you are now planning to look into studying or coming as a tourist, which is fine. Just thank him for his advice and be on your way. Cool

the information is not conflicting. the repetitions were because he wasn't getting it.

It's immature and without point and makes you sound like someone who is more interested in provoking others for the sake of a battle - or attempting to come off as always being right - than anything else.

Funny about that huh, especially since when it comes to issues about immigration law or contracts or any other sticky issues, Glenski is almost always right. Unlike a lot of people who repeat hearsay and rumors. It's ok to act like you're always right when you're always right.

You can't say your peace and then move on to something more productive.

I really hope you're not coming to Japan to teach English.
And I think making sure someone understands that some things they are hinting at wanting to do are illegal is fairly productive.

You come back to this thread time and again, portraying yourself as a grandfather/grandmother figure. And then you resort to badgering and provoking again. That's unhealthy behavior from someone who feels that the underlings around here should respect you. It's simply shameful.

You've been here a month. Glenski has been here, what, 8 years? I think what's shameful is to berate a poster who does nothing but post useful information for people who desperately need it. People just don't like the hear that what they want to do in Japan isn't going to work out. Glenski doesn't pull any punches. Good! It's faaar better to have the truth given to you straight up than misinformation with a sugar coating.

And ldeep, that goes for you, too. Nothing is being accomplished at this point. It's time to step back, let go, and move on to something healthy and productive

"Now who is being the grandmother figure?" I don't think this thread needs Mrs. Manners slapping people on the wrist.

Look, I didn't set out to rip on you, scruffy. But I am sick and tired of people giving Glenski a hard time because he speaks in an authoritative tone. Guess what? He's authoritative! You should all be thanking him for hanging out on forums and giving people such well-researched and solid information. He knows more about many complex issue than most of you ever will. So quit whining!!

Well said. Point taken.

Yes, I'm coming to Japan to teach. I'm very excited about it and can't wait.

So Glenski is the grandfather around here? Not the grandmother? Okay!

Re: "Glenski's a troll"

If he is then his act over the last ten years or so has suckered everyone. He's up to this point posted something like 5000 posts giving accurate information about immigration, visas, employment in Japan and living costs presumably to gain trust from the gullible just so that he can take in one poor poster who keeps saying that they are special and above the rules.

Sure, Glenski's act has paid off handsomely. I'm sure he's laughing into his beer as he ponders how this grand scheme has worked like a dream.

I agree. I know someone who thinks they can just go to Japan and get a job without a degree. People need to know the way it is. I had to also be blunt and to the point with this person I know. No degree, then no job simple as. As stated before working holiday visas or holiday for 90 days is fine though. I start with Aeon in November and I had to get a degree to be able to get to Japan. So here I am 3 years later and going to Japan.

I must say I surveyed the board for a while and found everything very helpful and searches very useful, hence why I have only just felt the need to sign up to post comments/topics. Keep up the useful information.

Ideeep if you want to teach in Japan enough, just get that degree mate. Or go there on holiday and have a great time. Then come back and get the degree this is best I feel.
