Is a CV the same as a resume? I see ads that say send your CV. Whats the difference in the two? Is a resume just what we yanks call a CV?

For most schools in this field, CV = resume.

CV lists all of your achievements and can be many pages, a resume is a usually just a page is a way to sell yourself. I usually send a resume on the net when applying for a job, but also make my CV available to employers who prefer a CV. It is also good to take your CV to a job interview and refer to it in the course of the interview.

Please do a search on this topic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been asked countless times!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty please!!!!!!!

Besides, "we yanks" unfortunately interchange the terms resume and CV, despite there being a difference if one gets technical, even within the US of A.

What outfit is asking for CV? If it's not American (or if it's not a high level corporate/academic position you are applying for), then be polite and ask specifically what information they desire, but explain why you are confused.

CV = Curriculum Vitae and should be a lengthy and detailed description of your academic activities, publications, presentation, awards - and your work experience etc. An older person with lots of education and experience might have a 6-12 page CV.

Resume = quick and dirty review of work and qualifications ideally in less than two pages.

However - yes - in TEFL usually Resume = CV, and usually people asking for a CV don't really know what they are asking for.
