so, I'm trying to relocate to Taiwan come June - September and I'm chasing my tail. I was hoping you all might help with some simple questions

1. Are TESOL/TESL/CELTA certs necessary or merely desirable with American BA's? I have two BA's in Philosophy and Spanish from an American Jesuit university, but I don't have much in the way of teaching experience.

2. What is the best Way to look for a gig in Taiwan? TO simply arrive and start hustling?, to Secure a job on the internet before hand? If internet, where do I start?

3. Does Taiwan need bartenders?

thanks

You don't need the TESOL.

3 years ago I got on a plane with a 60 day tourist visa, within 72 hours I had a job. Go read posts in the TW forum. You will find that questions like these are often asked. You probably won't even have to do a search to find you answers.

I enjoyed TW and the money was worth the problems. Good luck.
