Hi - does anyone know how to say "Please don't thin my hair" in Japanese? This question is for the ladies or anyone with really good Japanese.

While we're on the subject, what is "trim" in Japanese, as in "Just a trim, thanks"? Not the same word used for things like hedges or trees or grass etc? Maybe it is. Never got a straight answer from anyone I trusted and the people that I went to while in Japan all knew the terms in English (& German, for some reason) so it never came up.

Hey canuck, that's pretty good. Very Happy:

How do you say, "I'd like a medium wave, bleached to a light daffodil shade, with only a bit of layering, two-inch extensions in the back and graduated, angled bangs that go an inch above my eyebrows." ?

LOL. Awwwwwwwwwwwww...... Razz

That's ok.

But in all seriousness, does anyone know how to ask for a "straight razor shave"? Japan is one of the rare countries left in the world where this practice is still legal...

I had a few "ahem" illegal straight razor shaves back home in Canada, provided courtesy a friend from El Salvador who ran an underground barbershop! (Wait. What?) Seriously, nothing beats a good, straight razor shave.

Everytime I get my hair cut a straight razor shave seems to be complimentary. Threw the poor old man for a loop one day when I asked him to skip the shave as I was in somewhat of a hurry. Wink

If you can't find someone to give you a straight razor shave in Japan, head for India. My husband has had numerous shaves in various parts of India and is still alive to tell the tale

"Inch" could be tricky.

How about some Japanese not even wanting to cut your hair because of being a foreigner. Only happened to me once in Sagamihara back in 99. It was 3 gaijin going in, he must have got scared, so he pretty much ran us all out.

Heh, anyone ever been to the QB house? A trim and a vaccuum is all you need.
