but I did have the opportunity to spend a couple weeks in Chengdu last spring. I saw an awful lot of blue sky while I was there. IMO Chengdu in a wonderful city, and I think you'd be making a mistake writing it off your list of places to consider working.

Two weeks, no more than 14 days out of 365 days in a year, and you believe Chengdu is China's atmospherically cleanest city?
But I will agree with you in saying Chengdu is one of China's loveliest places. In spite of its eternal pollution status! |

ESL: Of course my post didn't say anything like that. That's Roger for you, he can't stand to have anyone contradict one of his opinions. Roger pull your head out It's ok to be wrong once in awhile.
To the OP: I stand by what I said. Wonderful city and not "eternally" polluted as Roger states. Expat community is a lot of fun in Chengdu. If you decide to go there, give me a heads up, and I'll hook you up with some friends that I'm sure will help you get settled and off on the right foot.

Now I'll help you branch from the (Which city) tree...
If youz a gona go to Shanghai then I would definitely recommend finding out WHERE in Shanghai or anywhere else for that matter.

Absolutely. But please remember that:
There are few, if any, universities located in prime, downtown real estate.
The suburb you live in will be your home. "Downtown" [overpriced and over-rated] is just for weekends.
And if it's pollution you're worried about, the further out the better. You'll never get a suntan in downtown Shanghai. |
