H everyone -
Just wondering if anyone attended the Lewis School of Languages in Barcelona for their CELTA course? Also, any advice for finding an apartment and job upon comletion of the course in Barcelona. I've checked out www.loquo.com to check for apartments -- only problem is I don't know what neighborhood I should be looking in? Just a little background on me: I have a BA in English and Women's Studies, I speak enough Spanish to get around (not Catalan though, will I be ok?), I'll get my CELTA in August and will be looking for employment at the beginning of September and finally, I have an EU passport.
Any advice would be much appreciated!! |

I think you'd be better off figuring out the apartment thing after you've spent some time in the city. I lived near the Verdaguer metro station and loved the area, but when the weekend came I wished I was closer to Las Ramblas. I checked out an apartment near the big statue that looks like a bullet and was totally freaked out by the area at night. If you end up taking a job outside the city center you might want to be close to a train station (not just the metro). I think it's better to wait and see. |
