Ok, folks! Last one to the bar tonight's a rotten egg! Smile

(To be read with an Irish accent): In honour of one of me favourite saints, 'tis fitting to share with our friends some of our favorite Irish toasts, blessings and prayers that will just roll of our tongues this evening when we sip our Guinness! And if you don't get all teary-eyed thinking about the green hills of Ireland, May you melt off the earth like snow off a ditch! Smile (An Irish curse).

I'll go first:

A blessing:

May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.

And a toast:

Here's to a long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and an honest one.
A cold beerand another one!

May the curse of Mary Malone and her nine blind illegitimate children chase you so far over the hills of Damnation that the Lord himself can't find you with a telescope.

Well... No, not YOU personally.... But When I first heard this little curse I just about died laughing!

That's what I'll be up to...

Anyone got any 'Best St Paddy's night' stories?

Hehe.... I'm not Irish.. I'm Czech -- we too do beer justice. In fact, anthropologists believe that the Slavs as ancient nomadic tribes came from the area that is now Ireland, and are Celtic by ancestoral blood.

That would explain my interest in learning Gaelic and all things Irish. Smile

Anyway, I don't really have any great stories but our first St. Patty's Day in Japan 3 years ago was awesome! It was one of our first times at a local foreigner bar and we got to meet people from: Canada, USA, Australia, UK, Ireland, NZ, Africa, France, just to name a few... And people kept buying me beer -- maybe because we were only about a month off the boat and they wanted to give us a decent welcome. Anyway, I made some great friends that night -- people I still hang with today (the ones that are still in Japan)...

P.S. I'll be going out later -- right now I'm rehearshing for a one-man play that I'm putting on (acting) tomorrow evening! And I still have a long ways to go!

Did you see Tokyo Tower lit up in green this weekend?

In the Dubliner's Pub in Shinjuku, there was a lot of green going on, but I stuck with cider in it's original colour.

May those who love us love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.

A happy belated St. Patrick's Day to all!

So what did you guys do?

I went to "DRUM & BASS x DUBSTEP WARZ" at Club Unit in Daikanyama (Shibuya), Tokyo.

Admittedly it was not exactly a St. Patty's themed affair, but my friends wanted to go. It was ok I guess. Don't know much about the scene these days. Next year I'm hitting up an Irish Pub.

Went to the local. Had fish & chips, and spent the night drinking Jameson, Guinness and Kilkenny....

Listened to Irish music, danced a jig, and after all the festivities, walked home.

On the way I caught a leprechaun and beat the crap outta the little bugger because he didn't make good on his promises the past few years.

He begged for his life and said he couldn't get the pot of gold through Japanese customs, but I'm smarter than that. I threatened to eviscerate his entire family unless I got my pot of gold by next year. Then I punched him in the stomach and let him off with a warning.

Bloody leprechauns. Can't trust 'em!
