Does anyone have private health insurance? Can you recommend a company/scheme?
I used to use Basak Sigorta but gave them up a couple of years ago when they wanted to increase my premiums in line with inflation plus what I'd cost them the previous year!
That wasn't what I expected of an insurance scheme (this was regular check-ups for an ongoing easily controlled, non-life threatening condition - glaucoma, not likely to cost them a lot of money in the future). Also, as a single female approaching fifty, they insisted I pay the premiums to be covered for child birth, which I thought irrelevant!
I recently spent 3 days in hospital at my own expense (peritonsillar abscess) which cost 516ytl which I thought very reasonable. However, it has got me thinking about insurance again. Can anyone recommend an insurance company or scheme, either Turkish or not, but if foreign, obviously it must continue to operate regardless of trips "home" and allow policy holders to work?
Any suggestions gratefully received. |
