I have a contract which states;
"You will receive 30 days paid leave for every year at work and the end of service pay is as per UAE labor law"
I guess this means I don't get a holiday for a year. Is this right?  |

Usually there are semester breaks and the two Eid holidays... perhaps National Day. But normally you start in August/September and you get your first leave the next summer.
But you haven't mentioned what type of educational institution this is... universities are different from Int. School or Language Schools. 30 days sounds very low, so I suspect that it is not university.
Best to ask the employer what their interpretation is...

| Hi and thanks so much for your reply. This will be for an International College which has diploma courses for adults. I think it is like a university style institution. My contract is to start asap. I am wondering if this would mean I teach in the middle of the summer holidays? |
