It is hardly a legal discussion! I just think it is very misleading to post how easy it is for people to go from a tourist visa to PR. Because it is not and most tourists travelling to the US do not have the option of getting married to a US national!

Relax, it's just a discussion board.

I'm going back to planet Earth now. Cool

About American ESL/EFL textbooks, we are using some very fine US ones. I believe my boss is using something called Quest, an excellent series in all skills (I think) and meanwhile I have been using Interactions and Mosaic, which are fine.

I don't suppose this will have much an affect on learner's preference for UK/US English.

I've found it to be true almost worldwide that advanced English users prefer BBC English, beginners prefer Standard White bread Kanuk/USanian and All learners hate any sort of regional accent, particularly British ones (and amusingly the most commonly used ones).

Where it strikes fear into my heart is than soon my mother-in-law will be able to find me anywhere I go.
