I'm wondering if schools discriminate between a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science (which I have). Would it at all be more difficult to get a job if you have a BS rather than a BA? It seems that every school I have looked at always asks for a BA and never even mentions a BS. I do have my CELTA and am a native speaker, but am curious about whether or not this is a legitimate concern. Like if for example, someone with the exact same qualifications as me, but with a BA would get a job over me because he has that degree and I have a BS. I'm heading to CR in a couple of weeks and would appreciate the help. Thanks

I doubt if that is a serious problem at all. They probably wrote BA because they didn't know that the correct expression is "bachelor's degree."

Everyone knows that a BS is a similar type of degree to a BA, if you went to college. It's just different fields of study. They want people who have an education and also a 4 weeks to 8 weeks diploma of teaching English as a second language. Also some schools here want experience. Why would you even ask a question like that?

Take it easy, zeddiez. He didn't know for sure, that's why he asked. Nothing wrong with that.
