I apologize beforehand as I'm sure this question has already been answered somewhere, but my searches have not been successful:
I am in the process of finding a job in China, hopefully Shanghai, what questions should I be prepared to answer in my forthcoming interviews? |

There are interviews? With questions? Of the two main jobs I've had, they only wanted to make sure I spoke English and had a college degree - - very few questions from them come to mind at this time. I, however, had a TON of questions which my current school answered (well, most anyway) and my last school found it a chore to do so.
Come with documentation: passport sized pictures, resume, copy of degree/diploma, a couple letters of reference maybe for posterity and then, if they do have a formal interview, speak slowly and clearly and honestly (well, try not to embellish too much!). I'm guessing most language mills will want you to give a demonstration class, so you might come prepared with a mini-lesson, maybe 15 to 20 minutes worth. Something simple, no need to get too carried away. |

This indeed is so often the clincher - and it's often not so much to do with how good you are as a teacher - but more about how much the fee paying customers are going to like you!!!! Welcome to being an FT in China. |
