I'm looking for:

- Low salary
- No airfare
- High setup costs
- No pirvates
- High cost of living
- Crappy school that I'll leave after three months
- Vice

I'm ready to go!

Thailand meets four of your seven criteria . . .

And vice can be a HUGE expense. Don't underestimate it.

Pirvates, in particular - can be costly . . .

I always think of Canada, America, and England as places where locals teach ESL. I'm a hardcore TEFLer and I want something more exotic.

Thailand sounds nice.

Italy meets most of your criteria:

As high as you want! (See cost of living.)
Quote:
- No privates

Well, you don't have to do privates if you really want the challenge of living on your crappy salary.
Quote:
- High cost of living

Salary: between 800 and 1,200 euros a month. Rent: about 50% of your salary. Unless you want to share a flat with a bunch of strangers/nutters half your age.

- Crappy school that I'll leave after three months

Plenty to choose from.
Quote:
- Vice

Tick. And the added bonuses of all-pervasive corruption and organised crime.

For some reason, I love it here. Confused
